It's not too hard to put together - I would suggest to make sure that all the bolts are tight - from time to time they might become loose - but that's understandable with you moving on it. One thing I will say that I didn't like was on the video - when trying to do the "side to side" excercises - my size eleven feet are too big, and knock against each other the sides of the machine. I might try that one without shoes on sometime ...more

But if you can't get to the gym or out for a run, then it's a perfect low-impact machine. I like to add some upper body motion (punches or arm rolls) to get my heart rate going-- and bend my knees to create some resistance. She has been using it now for about a month, and loves it! I read the reviews that stated the Gazelle squeaks,a the footpads break and things of that nature, but I believe that with a little Preventive Maintenance such as regreasing the pivot points occaisonally and standing in the middle of the foot pads where they are supported by the metal frame, these issues can be prevented. I am a beginner with this at the age of 61 after have a major heart attack a year ago and having to have a pacemaker installed I was a little afraid of this machine. The machine had to be assembled but with the help of one other person, we had it completely assembled in less than two hours. Directions were very helpful and easy to follow. I won this bike, so my rating my be skewed by the fact that it was free, but I was able to stop the grinding noise that others have complained about.
