I previously owned a ProForm that lasted eight years of regular use before the frame broke. Since I use it regularly, I wanted a more expensive unit than the $399 ProForm that I had. I narrowed it down to the Schwinn 431 for 2 main reasons: Most comfortable for me and a good price in comparison to the others. I paid $699. As far as the other reviews I read, they are accurate. I wanted to try it out for myself. It was quiet and steady and comfortable on my legs. I was pleasantly surprised. It was on sale. However, they were out of them since this is last years model. We searched the other stores. I would have purchased from Amazon but we read about the shipping problems with Amazon and this product. We found the last one at another local store. I reciently had a baby and am way more out of shape than I thought. I was so excited to get this machine home and a little nervous too since I couldn't try it out. It was package really well and arrived 5 days sooner than expected! My husband opened and assembled with his own tools from start to finish in 1.5 hrs. When you open the box everything is packaged very well and it honestly takes almost as long to unwrap everything and get everything out of the box as it does to assemble. It states that assembly needs two people but I was able to put it together myself without any problems. After all Men don't listen to instructions anyways right?
