I thought I was missing some of the screws but they were in a holding position in some of the parts, so everything was there. The "cosmetic parts" (pieces of plastic that cover the joints) were tedious to apply. Still, it was all worth it in terms of the finished product. The assembled unit is strong, smooth, and silent. I did some research and for the price this model had the best reviews. I had a cheap elliptical years ago but it didn't compare to this one. It's very quiet with a smooth movement. Very stable, doesn't rock or move around when in use. It took about 3 hours to put together and I'm pretty experienced since I've probably had every kind of exercise equipment out there at one time or another. Fell off the exercising wagon after a trip to Tokyo, but am now back to at least an hour a day on the Gazelle and my clothes started fitting better after just a week. I can truly say that this machine is the best investment that I have ever made in myself. I try to work out at least 5 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. In 30 minutes I can burn off around 700 calories and if I push myself and go 45 minutes I can easily burn off 1000. I do this at a moving rate of 13 mph. The first hour I spent removing parts from the box and checking them against the parts list. In the process I found an extra short screw, loose in the box. The only short screws on the parts list were inside the pre-assembled frame, so I was forced to remove the side shields to ensure that the extra screw had not come loose from inside.
