I will update this review if my opinion changes. This is a GREAT machine for the price. A LifeFitness was out of my price range, and research showed that this was a great "budget" model so this is the one I went with. Pros: - 20" stride. The display program it uses feels like it's out of the 90's. The fan it uses barely moves any air, it's like a little 100mm fan from a computer case or something. I did a lot of research before buying the Sole E55 (2008 model) and came to the conclusion that I needed to spend at least $1,000 for a decent sturdy machine. Initially I was going to buy the E35 which is the lowest model but after trying out the machines at Dicks sporting goods the E55 just felt more solid than the E35. When delivered the elliptical came in one giant box. Take my advice and do not open the box until you move it to the room you are keeping the elliptical in. Let me tell you, this machine feels even better than the LifeFitness ellipticals, although the workout is definitely more difficult because of the 20" stride length. I'm pretty short - 5'7" so maybe that has something to do with it. You can really get an awesome calf and b**t workout in comparison to other machines. We had previously owned a ~$500 machine that seemed rather flimsy compared to this unit. It is definitely smooth and sturdy, but it seems to have gradually begun making noise (first clunking noises, then rumbling, etc). About two weeks ago I called Sole customer service and got a live person who asked for my unit's serial number told me that a technician would call me back within 24 hours.
